'Bushwalking with a purpose'

If you think you'd like to join one of these monitoring events, please register.

Malleefowl monitoring involves bushwalking in rural and sometimes remote parts of Western Australia.
A suitable level of physical fitness and appropriate clothing and footwear is a  prerequisite for joining these monitoring events.
Monitoring training and supervision is provided.

18th - 19th October 2025
Staying in Dalwallinu caravan park or other local accommodation, up to 5 groups willmonitor one site per day over the weekend – a total of 52 mounds.

Merredin Peaks is close to town and this (fairly easy) monitoring of 12 mounds will take half a day to complete with 2 groups.

*Accommodation included – camping and limited beds available at Red Moort Field Station.

A full weekend with 3 main monitoring sites and 2 smaller ones – a total of 158 mounds to visit with up to 10 groups.
